Getting to Denali Touch of Wilderness B&B Inn

We are located just north of Healy Alaska on Stampede Road, right off the Parks Hwy. Following are driving directions out of Fairbanks and Anchorage.

From Anchorage (259 miles, 5.5 hrs)

  • Head out of Anchorage on the Glenn Highway (AK1)
  • Continue on Glenn to just before Palmer. Take I-A4 West towards Wasilla.
  • This becomes the Parks Highway (AK3). Continues north.
  • About 4 miles north of Healy, right past mile marker 251, turn left on Stampede Road.
  • Continue on Stampede Road for about 3 miles (2.9 to be exact)
  • Touch of Wilderness B&B will be on your left

From Fairbanks (115 miles, 2 hrs)

  • Head south on AK-3 towards Anchorage
  • Go about 110 miles. About 2 hours. Turn right, about ½ mile past the mile marker 252, on Stampede Road.
  • Continue on Stampede Road for about 3 miles  (2.9 to be exact)
  • Touch of Wilderness B&B will be on your left

When you see mile marker 251 on the right, the blue church on the left then you know to turn left  on the first street past the blue church.

For Our Train Traveling Guests: (No Vechicle)

If you will be arriving by Train you still have options to get around. The Denali Taxi-Shuttle Service operates from 8A to 8P. Some of our local restaurants will come and pick up and return you back to the B & B. So you can still dine out. Here are some listed below...

Most of these use the Shuttle Service that have convenience shuttles who operate 24 hrs a day. $1.00 one way fare. (Train Depot Transfer is Free- some restrictions apply. They Service the Wilderness Access Center (WAC) Every 1.5 hours/ 24 hours per day.

There is also Henry's Coffee Shop just about a mile down Stampede Rd that you could hike to and have dinner- He also offers a slide show (free w/dinner) and for a small fee you can tour his Mushing Dogs! Makes for a FUN evening.

Then if you decide to get rental car service in Healy you can contact  "Keys To Denali" They can even pick you up at the train depot. We have had guests who stayed here and rented a car from the Miller's car service.

Also down the street if you want to experience an activity of ATV's then you can contact Denali Tundra Tours- they will pick up and deliver to the B & B. The Guests we have sent to them LOVED the experience!
